So it’s been a little while…
Having spent the last three months of 2019 working on my currently unfinished graphic novel ‘Corvus’ it has been nice to spend a bit of time in the first month of this year working on some other bits and pieces, new sketches and drawings, and even finishing up a painting that had been on the easel for some time.
Those other pieces can be addressed in a post for another time, this one however is dedicated to my latest charcoal drawing.
Stepping back into using charcoal has been incredibly liberating, fulfilling and ultimately satisfying. It has also given me a lot of motivation and inspiration to get to work on a new range of artworks; I intend to delve into some subjects that are a little different to my usual fantasy art.
Ultimately I am a storyteller, and there are always stories to be told, whether fantastic or real world based.

A young elephant calf and his mother wander the wilds of the African landscape, where they are headed remains a matter of uncertainty but the timing is always perfect. They do not stray far from their herd, despite the curiosity of the calf and his thirst for exploration and discovery…
